mEnergy is a web project based on an open source CMS (Content Management System) called Joomla, born from the realization of the Database of the 2005 2nd exam of computer science, assigned to the class as an exercise for the Christmas holidays 2009/2010. The database covers the management of artists, albums and genres of a record company. Once created, the text of the test asks optionally to create a web directory for managing and viewing the created database. Thus was born the idea of creating a real website of a record label, and more, which also offered a variety of additional services, such as collection of artists entered by users and the organization of events.
What does mEnergy do?
With mEnergy any visitor can access the list of artists on the DB, has the opportunity to register and ask the administrator to become a Publisher that can add his favorite artists to the DB. A publisher also has the possibility of eliminating one or more artists at one time and place, for any artist added, albums with their cover and their publishing information. As Publisher you can add events to the calendar, combined with one or more artists.
How is mEnergy made?
mEnergy is based on Joomla, an open source CMS, which among its many features dedicated to the publication of articles in Blog Style, offers the possibility to install several extensions to ensure complete customization for your site. The main extension used in mEnergy is Jumi, it allows you to enter and manage your own PHP scripts and to display them in pages normally used for articles. This makes mEnergy a fully dynamic site that uses forms for the interaction between the pages.
